Vice-chair, FAC, GC and TC member. Serving second term after a one-year term: 2015–2018
5 Reasons to vote for Daniel Blanche
Reason #1. Contribution I’m the only incumbent on the list. After one year on the board now, and a significant learning curve investment, I will be more effective and passionate than ever and will be looking forward to pursue the MEC journey for members and Canadians in general.
Reason #2. Passion Cooperatives are special. MEC definitely is. As an environment conscious person, an avid outdoor cyclist and a cross-country skier very much involved in the sports’ community, serving on MEC board is both an honour and a duty.
Reason #3. Director Certification and Experience Governance is becoming a profession. My ICD.D (IAS.A) board director certification and experience on multiple boards are definite assets in keeping the members’ perspective in sight while looking at all the alternatives to optimize the business plan.
Reason #4. Information Technology Expertise I can particularly contribute to a key challenge identified in the strategic plan: the accelerated deployment of Information Technology in order to optimize service to members while facilitating the user experience, both physically and virtually. Currently CEO of an IT applied research institute, with more than 30 years of IT experience, I believe I have and will continue to help the discussions around the board table on the formidable potential of IT as well as IT governance and risks.
Raison #5. Board Representation I am the only “recommended” candidate east of Ontario. Quebec and the Atlantic provinces represent approximately 20% of MEC membership base.
